Art Classes

View the current schedule and pricing. Please scroll down to read about our programs for children, teenagers, and adults. We also do workshops for educators. Sometimes 2 different age groups have to be merged due to low enrollment. If this should happen, the specific curriculum is still preserved according to age group. Also, the age group is a recommended standard determined by the instructor. Students who attend class regularly for many semesters may cross over to the next age group upon approval by instructor.

Students learn a variety of techniques, including alla prima, glazing, scumbling, and impasto, as well as explore a wide range of subject matter, including still life, and abstraction.

For intermediate to advance painters who want to develop their personal style, aspects of formalism, such as color and composition will be explored through a series of exercises. Whether a work is representation or abstract or a merger of both styles, we will explore the  tools, methods,  and conceptual thinking that shape the artwork.
